DUBLIN--(Business Wire)--
Research and Markets
(http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/661dcc/landline_and_mobil) has
announced the addition of ICAP Group's new report "Landline and Mobile Telephony
Services in Greece 2009" to their offering.

The present study focuses on the domestic market of landline and mobile
telephony services. The alternative landline operators that started to do
business in 2002, following the market liberalization on 1/1/2001, in
combination with the rapid expansion of new technologies, continue to bring
about significant changes and developments in the field of telecommunications.

The Greek mobile and landline telephony market has grown substantially over the
past years, primarily due to the complete liberalization of telecommunications.
Telecommunications is among the most beneficial sectors for the country's
economy and directly impacts on the populations socio-cultural level. With the
development of the telecommunications networks, landline as well as mobile
telephony ones, there is an even greater and more effective -voice and
electronic- data transmission which in today's world constitutes an important
part of the commercial and social activity/growth.

In Greece, just like in most European countries, the alternative landline
providers use the network of the "notified operators", in our case OTE (the
Hellenic Telecommunications Organization), in order to offer their services.
Based on the current situation, the creation and development of a
privately-owned line network by an alternative provider would be financially
impossible.

As for the mobile telephony sector in Greece, it consists of three major
providers each of which offer very similar services to consumers. The sector is
therefore highly competitive.
