LOS ANGELES, CA, Nov 09 (MARKET WIRE) --
WHAT: Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa will be joined by
officials from City Council, federal aviation, and City fire
and airport departments to break ground on a new replacement
Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) facility at Los
Angeles International Airport (LAX). The $13.5-million LAFD
Fire Station 80 project received $10.8 million in federal
stimulus funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment
Act.
The new Fire Station 80 at LAX will improve readiness for
airport emergencies, clear the way for further airport
modernization and provide jobs to help revive the local
economy.

WHEN: 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009
Media should arrive at the parking lot no later than
10:45 a.m. for security screening and shuttling to event site,
which is located on the restricted airfield.
WHERE: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) airline maintenance
hangar aircraft ramp on restricted airfield, adjacent to the
construction site. In case of rain, event will be conducted
inside the hangar.

boarding buses to go onto the restricted airfield.
