NEW YORK, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aeropostale, Inc. (NYSE: ARO), a
mall-based specialty retailer of casual and active apparel for young women and
men, today announced its plans to donate 100,000 brand new winter coats to
homeless teens this holiday season. The donation is the culmination of
Aeropostale's year long initiative to improve the lives of the growing number
of homeless teens throughout the United States and Canada.

During the month of November, Aeropostale will be delivering these coats to
over 130 shelters and homeless agencies in all 50 states and Canada.
Aeropostale designed these 100,000 coats exclusively for this outreach
program; they will not be available in its stores or online.

"There are approximately four million teens living on the streets in America,"
said Julian R. Geiger, Chairman and CEO at Aeropostale. "Aeropostale is a
company that cares. This is a perfect opportunity for us to give back, as
every kid needs a warm coat for winter."

Aeropostale has a long history of supporting teen-related causes, giving back
to the local communities it serves and assisting those in need. During the
holidays, Aeropostale donates over 50,000 teddy bears to children in pediatric
hospitals across the country. Last year, its annual Teens for Jeans campaign
distributed over 200,000 pairs of jeans to homeless teens throughout the
United States and Canada.

With an appearance on 'The Tyra Banks Show' on November 12, 2009, an email to
their Aero database, social networking initiatives and the in-store
distribution of one million fliers, Aeropostale is hoping to draw even greater
attention to the plight of homeless teens.

To coincide with the national outreach, Aeropostale stores will be teaming up
with local shelters in 25 key markets to distribute the coats to those in need
as well as to encourage others to give, just in time for the holiday season.
