Data Presented at San Francisco Diabetes Conference
LONDON--(Business Wire)--
New data from Puredel Limited, presented at the 9th Annual Diabetes Technology
Meeting in San Francisco, CA, suggests that higher blood levels of insulin were
achieved by Ossulin than had been previously demonstrated by other oral
products. In a series of experiments covering a range of doses and models,
Ossulin consistently delivered around 20% of the insulin dose into the
bloodstream.

The authors concluded that:

"Ossulin provides an efficient way to deliver insulin to the body via oral administration, resulting in blood levels higher than those previously observed with other oral insulin products."

Lead author and Chief Scientific Officer for Puredel, Dr. Marco Prosdocimi
added:

"Oral insulin could represent a major advance in diabetes therapy through its simplicity of use, and because it mimics the natural physiological route of the hormone. The incorporation of insulin into the proprietary delivery agent NatsomTM gives rise to a product which is not destroyed by the gastric environment."

About Puredel Limited

Puredel is focusing its research on the development of Ossulin, which has shown
promising results in preliminary studies. Puredel will also explore other target
molecules which are currently injected, and whose oral administration would
greatly improve patient convenience and compliance. Natreon`s R&D staff and
facilities in the United States and India are working closely with Puredel to
help facilitate the next stage of scientific validation prior to commercial
development.

Puredel will coordinate the product development of Ossulin up to proof of
clinical efficacy, drawing on its extensive network of scientific experts in
Europe and North America.
