New Issue-TransAlta Corp sells $500 mln in notes

  Nov 9 (Reuters) - TransAlta Corporation (TAC.N) on Monday
sold $500 million of senior unsecured notes, said IFR, a
Thomson Reuters service.
  HSBC, RBC, and RBS were the joint bookrunning managers for
the sale.
