COPENHAGEN, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Danish biopharma company Genmab revealed third-quarter losses deepened from a year ago and were bigger than analysts' average forecast as it repeated on Tuesday revised 2009 guidance given last week.

Operating losses grew to 210 million Danish crowns ($42.27 million) in July-September from 37 million in the same quarter last year, Genmab said in a statement.

The market consensus, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S, had been for a July-September loss before interest and tax of 147 million crowns.

Genmab's third-quarter report reiterated the downwardly revised full-year 2009 revenue and earnings guidance given in a surprise Nov. 5 profit warning, which sent the company's shares to four-year lows.

Shares in Genmab -- which is developing cancer drug Arzerra with pharma major GlaxoSmithKline, a rival to Swiss Roche and U.S. Biogen Idec's Rituxan -- slid 12.2 percent to end at 100.50 crowns before the report.

The MSCI European pharma, biotech and life sciences index was flat.

The firm expects a 2009 operating loss of about 1.16 billion crowns, full-year revenues of about 640 million and sees cash at the end of the year of about 1.1 billion crowns.

The guidance last week came with an announcement that Genmab would close its U.S. manufacturing facility and shed 300 jobs across the business.

That news triggered stock recommendation downgrades or price target cuts from analysts at several banks and brokerages, including Credit Suisse, UBS, Handelsbanken, Danske Bank and Lan & Spar.

"We revised our 2009 financial guidance due to the announcement of a reorganization plan including a contemplated reduction in headcount of approximately 300 positions and decision to sell our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota," Genmab said in the statement.

"Genmab's future manufacturing requirements will be met through working with contract manufacturing vendors," it said.

Revenues -- mainly milestone payments from Genmab's partnership with GlaxoSmithKline for developing Arzerra -- fell to 435 million crowns in the first nine months of 2009 from 667 million in the year-ago period.
