--Taiwan's envoy to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting this month will speak to Chinese President Hu Jintao in a private meeting about a free trade agreement-like pact.

-- Taiwan has asked to include petrochemical, textile and machinery products on a list of sectors eligible for tariff concessions as part of the trade deal with China.

-- Taiwan government officials denied reports that companies in the United States had decided to suspend shipments of bone-in beef to Taiwan.
