Taiwan stocks open up, TSMC gains on strong outlook

 TAIPEI, Nov 11 (Reuters) - Taiwan stocks opened 0.13 percent
higher on Wednesday after the central bank imposed controls to
ban currency speculation, with chipmaker TSMC (2330.TW) rising
after the firm offered a rosy outlook next year and settled a
lawsuit with smaller rival SMIC (0981.HK).
 The main TAIEX shares index .TWII opened 10.19 points up at
7,603.68, extending a three-session winning streak.
 TSMC (TSM.N) the world's largest contract chip maker, rose
0.83 percent, with the semiconductor sub-index .TSII up 0.44
percent.
