Vietnam to allow unlimited gold imports - web site

HANOI Nov 11 (Reuters) - Vietnam will allow unlimited gold imports by five or six companies, a state-run news web site quoted central bank governor Nguyen Van Giau as saying on Wednesday.

The State Bank of Vietnam eased a one-and-a-half year ban on gold imports on Wednesday to stabilise the domestic market, where the price of the precious metal has risen sharply to levels above world gold prices, helping to push the country's dong currency to a record low.
