CNOOC shuts oilfields in Bohai Bay on strong winds

BEIJING Nov 12 (Reuters) - China's offshore oil and gas specialist CNOOC Ltd (0883.HK) has shut down operations at the BZ25-1 south oilfields from Nov. 10, affected by strong winds in the Bohai Bay area, the company said on Thursday.

The BZ25-1 South oilfield, capable of producing 27,000 barrels per day of crude oil, is a joint venture between CNOOC and Chevron, in which CNOOC holds 83.8 percent of shares, the company said in a statement.

The company did not provide details on when the oilfield will resume production or how the closure will affect its total output. (Reporting by Beijing Newsroom; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
