SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Nov 12 (MARKET WIRE) --
UHY Advisors, Inc. has selected GuardianEdge, the leader in endpoint data
protection, to secure information on all laptops and portable media
devices. The tax and business advisory firm will deploy GuardianEdge Hard
Disk Encryption and GuardianEdge Device Control throughout the
organization. The deployment will ensure that sensitive client and
business information on lost or stolen computers and removable media
devices is no longer at risk of being discovered.
"As a professional services firm, our clients expect that any data they
entrust to us will be held confidential. In some states encryption is even
required by law," said John Neall, chief information officer at UHY
Advisors. "We selected GuardianEdge because of their platform's
integration with Microsoft Active Directory. GuardianEdge solutions will
allow us to easily recover forgotten passwords or assign a password
manually to an external drive so that it can be decrypted by client
computers. A centrally managed console will be invaluable for our
organization, providing a smooth deployment and optimal performance."
UHY Advisors and its wholly owned subsidiary entities have more than 1,200
professionals providing services from 19 offices across the United States.
The company has traditionally provided tax, risk management, forensic and
litigation support consulting services to middle-market clients. UHY
Advisors' services lines include technology assurance and advisory
services, which address comprehensive information technology-related
enterprise risk, such as security vulnerability assessments.
UHY Advisors evaluated several products in the data protection space
before selecting GuardianEdge. The firm's selection criteria included
Active Directory integration, central management and the ability to
secure flash drives. They also emphasized password recovery options --
important in an organization with a widely dispersed workforce. The use
of GuardianEdge solutions helps to eliminate IT staff visits to
individual offices to help employees who forget their identification and
password. At consultancy organizations like UHY Advisors, the billable
time of each employee is extremely valuable, and IT solutions must
provide an ease of deployment and ongoing use that does not impact
productivity.
John Neall will be participating in an upcoming eSeminar with GuardianEdge
and senior Forrester analyst Benjamin Gray to discuss how enterprises can
extend data protection beyond hard disk encryption to include security for
portable media. The eSeminar, titled, "Protecting Data on Removable Media:
The Next Step in Data Protection," will be held on Tuesday, November 17,
2009 at 11 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) / 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time
(EST). For more information, please click here or email
