BRISBANE, CA, Nov 12 (MARKET WIRE) --
CollabNet, a leader in distributed application lifecycle management (ALM)
solutions, today introduced version 2.0 of CollabNet Desktop--Visual
Studio Edition to provide developers a more collaborative and productive
work environment. The software enables developers using Microsoft Visual
Studio to access the rich set of features and functionality of the
CollabNet TeamForge(TM) ALM platform and the Subversion software
configuration management (SCM) tool directly from their IDEs. CollabNet
Desktop--Visual Studio Edition will be compatible with Visual Studio 2010.

The company also announced that registered members of the Open CollabNet
community can receive 2.5 hours of free Web-based training for CollabNet
Desktop at http://www.open.collab.net/community/desktops/training.html.
Free Open CollabNet registration is also available there.

Version 2.0 features substantial ease-of-use innovations and deeper
integration between Visual Studio and the CollabNet products than ever
before. CollabNet Desktop--Visual Studio Edition is available as an open
source download at
http://www.open.collab.net/products/desktops/getit.html. Version 2.0 will
be available when CollabNet TeamForge 5.3 is released in December, 2009.

The AnkhSVN component of the desktop solution enables developers to
perform common Subversion-related tasks without leaving Visual Studio,
including viewing the status of source code, updating a Subversion
working copy, committing changes, and browsing repositories.

The latest version of the software increases developer productivity with
seamless integration and an all-new graphical point-and-click interface.
Associations between pieces of code or between code and defects are now
made with drag-and-drop precision, eliminating the need for error-prone
re-typing or cutting and pasting of defect numbers. Multiple issue and bug
trackers are now supported for end-to-end collaboration between developers
and testers for defect management.

"With a focus on change management and version control right from within
the IDE, the second release of CollabNet Desktop--Visual Studio Edition
provides developers the tools they need to create custom ALM solutions,"
said Doug Seven, senior product manager, Visual Studio Team System,
Microsoft Corp. "Microsoft is pleased that partners like CollabNet utilize
the Visual Studio product line to assist customers in software
development."

"CollabNet Desktop--Visual Studio Edition serves as a hub within the IDE
for all change management and version control activity for the Visual
Studio developer," said Jim Ensell, vice president, business development,
CollabNet. "The new software links Visual Studio, CollabNet TeamForge, and
Subversion tightly together to provide a complete platform for globally
distributed and collaborative software development."

CollabNet TeamForge provides users with a wide range of ALM capabilities,
including software version control, bug tracking, requirements management,
and release packaging, along with collaboration tools such as wikis,
discussion forums, and document repositories. The largest and most
successful open source software communities in the world, including
java.net, openoffice.org, tigris.org, and the award-winning Forge.mil, are
based on CollabNet's ALM platform.

CollabNet, a Microsoft Visual Studio Industry Partner, will be
demonstrating and distributing the CollabNet Desktop--Visual Studio
Edition at the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference, November
17-19, 2009 in booth 1017.

CollabNet is also releasing CollabNet Desktop - Eclipse Edition v2.0.
