New Tweet Command @CouponBot Saves Consumers Money Beginning This Holiday

PLANO, Texas, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- DealTaker.com announced today consumers
can receive specific store coupons via Twitter using a new, proprietary tweet
command: @CouponBot. Based on Twitter's application programming interface
(API), DealTaker's new service uses Twitter's user interfaces and third-party
applications (ie. TweetDeck) to communicate with DealTaker's coupon database,
making the social networking site interactive and "much smarter."

Similar to a search engine, DealTaker's @CouponBot technology enables Twitter
users to retrieve specific store coupons via tweets. Users simply go to "What
are you doing?" and type @CouponBot followed by the store name (@CouponBot
Best Buy), then click on their "@username" on the right side of the page. The
Bot, also known as an Internet robot, calls on an army of Twitter agents to
search thousands of coupons in the DealTaker database and return the most
current coupons. Users do not have to follow DealTaker to use @CouponBot.

"With social media's compounded annual growth rate of 34% over the next 5
years, consumers are increasingly taking charge of the information they
receive," explained Shawn McCarthy, Vice President, Product Strategy &
Development at DealTaker. "In a very simple, intuitive way the @CouponBot
application cuts through the clutter, using a direct command to deliver
exactly what the consumer wants, saving time and money. Simply put, it
delivers what consumers want when they want it without being bombarded by
spam," McCarthy said.

A recent study indicates more than half of online households with incomes of
$100,000 or more use coupons. As consumers look for smarter, easier ways to
find deals online and retailers look for ways to get offers directly to buyers
at the precise time when consumers make their purchase decision, the
application of this technology is seemingly endless.
