Ning Expands Executive Team on Heels of Record Growth of Social Platform for Interests and Passions

  PALO ALTO, CA, Nov 12 (MARKET WIRE) -- 
Ning, (www.ning.com), the social platform for the world's interests and
passions online, today announced key promotions and new additions to the
management team. The Ning Platform has achieved annual growth of more
than 300 percent, reaching over 1.7 million Ning Networks created and
more than 37 million registered users around the world with 1 million new
members being added every 12 days across Ning Networks.

    To support the company's growth, Ning recently promoted senior vice
president of Business Operations Jason Rosenthal to chief operating
officer. As COO, Rosenthal will be expanding the reach and monetization
opportunities for Ning. Diego Doval, the original Chief Architect at Ning
and one of the first three employees, was recently promoted from chief
technology officer to chief product officer. In his new role, Doval will
continue to innovate on the Ning Platform by defining and delivering the
next generation of products and services.

    After joining Ning as the director of Engineering in 2008, Sridatta
Viswanath was recently promoted to vice president of Engineering
overseeing the entire Engineering organization. He is responsible for a
number of key engineering management hires who have recently joined Ning.

    Reporting to Viswanath will be Nimrod Hoofien, director of Monetization
and Search. Hoofien joins Ning from Amazon where he developed key
components for Amazon's retail websites focused on growing sales and
improving customer experience. In addition to Hoofien, Carmine Rimi joins
Ning as the director of Reliability and Tools, also from Amazon, where he
was key to developing cloud technology.

    Additional hires reporting to Viswanath include Mike Tria, director of
Scalability and Security, who was previously at Rearden Commerce; Patrick
Mee, director of Network Creator and Member Experience, who joins Ning
following positions at SourceForge and Apple; and Peter Shafton, director
of Performance and Growth, formerly of VoloMedia and Yahoo!.

joins Ning from eBay where he oversaw the seller experience and was
responsible for increasing buyer trust and seller retention. Recently
promoted was Jill Nissen, formerly chief intellectual property council to
vice president, chief policy officer.

    The company also expanded its Marketing and Business Development teams.
Julie Supan was named vice president of Marketing following her role as
senior director of Marketing at YouTube. In this role, she is responsible
for managing all consumer brand building efforts behind the global
adoption of Ning's services.

    Alongside Marketing, new additions to the Business Development team
include vice president Joel Wright, formerly the vice president of
Paradigm Talent Agency and director of Advertising Sales at Yahoo!; and
Director Cristian Cussen, previously the director of Content and
Marketing at MySpace.
