MOSCOW Nov 12 (Reuters) - Twin eight-year-old girls were thrown from an eighth-storey window by their mother's boyfriend on Thursday, leaving them in a critical condition in a Moscow hospital, Russian news agencies quoted police sources as saying.

The 30-year-old man was identified as a drunk police officer by RIA news agency, but Interfax news agency said he was a sailor and was being questioned by a psychologist.

"Twin sisters Katya and Dasha, born in 2001, are in an extremely serious condition with multiple broken bones and damage to their organs," Interfax quoted a law-enforcement source as saying. (Writing by Conor Humphries)
