U.S. dollar extends losses after trade data

NEW YORK Nov 13 (Reuters) - The U.S. dollar extended losses against the yen to hit a session low on Friday after data showing the U.S. trade deficit widened in September by an unexpectedly large 18.2 percent.

The dollar fell as low as 89.48 yen, according to Reuters data, and was last down 0.9 percent at 89.54 yen JPY=. The dollar was at 89.73 before the release of the data.

The euro extended gains versus the dollar and last traded at $1.4884 EUR=, up 0.3 percent on the day.
