OSLO Nov 13 (Reuters) - Norwegian oil and gas producer Statoil (STL.OL) said it expected to soon restart production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) at its Snoehvit plant in the Arctic.

"We are not yet up and running on Snoehvit, but that is probably not far away," Statoil spokesman Gisle Johanson said.

"I cannot give precise timing, but I can say that we are in the final phase of the repairs," he told Reuters.

Snoehvit, Europe's only LNG production plant, was temporarily shut for a "couple of days" last Sunday due to restart problems following a longer maintenance outage. (Reporting by Joachim Dagenborg)
