BRUSSELS Nov 16 (Reuters) - The European Commission on Monday extended the deadline for its antitrust review of a planned merger between consulting firm Watson Wyatt Worldwide WW.N and rival Towers Perrin Forster & Crosby.

The European Union executive said in a list of planned mergers under review that it had moved the deadline to Dec. 3 from Nov. 19 to consider remedies offered by the parties aimed at addressing competition concerns over the $3.5 billion deal.

The Commission gave no further details. (Reporting by Bate Felix; Editing by Dale Hudson)
