S.Korea c.bank says hasty rate hike may hurt recovery

SEOUL Nov 17 (Reuters) - South Korea's central bank is concerned a hasty interest rate increase may hurt a recovery in Asia's fourth-largest economy, Bank of Korea Senior Deputy Governor Kim Jae-chun said on Tuesday.

"There are worries that a rate hike without enough growth momentum in the private sector may deteriorate the recent economic growth," Kim said in a prepared speech for a local forum.

The central bank will manage the policy rate with global coordination, considering the economy, inflation and asset markets, he said. (Reporting by Cheon Jong-woo; Editing by Jonathan Hopfner)
