Delta: Skyteam ready with $1 billion package for JAL

TOKYO (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines Inc said it and partners in the SkyTeam alliance are prepared to offer struggling carrier Japan Airlines Corp a support package totaling $1 billion in investment, revenue guarantees and financing.

The package includes capital investment of $500 million from SkyTeam, $300 million in revenue guarantees from Delta, and $200 million in asset-backed financing from Delta, according to a Delta presentation.

The presentation material was distributed by Delta ahead of a news conference by Delta President Edward Bastian in Tokyo.
