UPDATE 1-Cablevision will distribute Fox Business Network

NEW YORK Nov 19 (Reuters) - Cable television operator Cablevision Systems Corp (CVC.N) will distribute News Corp's (NWSA.O) Fox Business Network in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, Fox said on Thursday.

The business channel, which News Corp started to compete with General Electric's (GE.N) CNBC, will start appearing on Nov. 19 on channel 106 for Cablevision subscribers, Fox Business said in a statement.

Fox Business Network will be available to about 3 million Cablevision customers, a Cablevision spokesman said.

Cablevision is based on Long Island, New York, where it also owns the island's hometown daily newspaper, Newsday. (Reporting by Robert MacMillan and Yinka Adegoke; Editing by Lisa Von Ahn)
