Canada to have vaccine soon for half population

* 15 million doses to have been sent by end of next week

* GlaxoSmithKline has the contract to supply H1N1 vaccines

OTTAWA Nov 20 (Reuters) - Enough H1N1 flu vaccine for almost half of Canada's population will have been shipped out by the end of the next week, Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq said on Friday.

Huge lines had formed when vaccinations for the H1N1 swine flu started more than three weeks ago. But by the end of this week more than 10 million doses will have been shipped out and more than 15 million by the end of next week, she told Parliament.

GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK.L) has a contract to supply 50.4 million doses to Canada, which has a population of more than 33 million. Health officials said several days ago that more than 20 percent of the population had been vaccinated. (Reporting by Randall Palmer; editing by Rob Wilson)
