US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Wall St cuts losses, Dow positive

NEW YORK Nov 20 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks cut losses and the Dow turned positive on Friday as earlier weakness was offset by bargain hunting as investors scooped up defensive bets.

* In addition, the U.S. dollar .DXY trimmed gains. Equities and the dollar have moved in an inverse relationship of late.

* The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI inched up 1.44 points, or 0.01 percent, at 10,333.88. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was off 1.85 points, or 0.17 percent, to 1,093.05. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC slipped 8.28 points, or 0.38 percent, to 2,148.54.
