UPDATE 1-Husky Energy discovers more oil in White Rose area

Nov 23 (Reuters) - Husky Energy Inc (HSE.TO) said it discovered additional oil resources in the White Rose area located off Canada's East Coast.

The Hibernia Formation in the area encountered 55 meters (net) of high quality, oil-bearing reservoir containing an estimate of discovered Petroleum-Initially-In-Place of 30 million to 85 million barrels of light crude oil, the Canadian oil producer and refiner said.

Husky Energy is the operator of the White Rose oil field and holds a 72.5 percent working interest, while Suncor Energy (SU.TO) holds the remaining 27.5 percent working interest.

Shares of Husky Energy were up 38 Canadian cents at C$28.53 Monday morning on the Toronto Stock Exchange. (Reporting by R.
