COPENHAGEN Nov 23 (Reuters) - Danish telecom operator TDC (TDC.CO) said on Monday that its main owner Nordic Telephone Company (NTC), which is a partnership of private equity firms, has started reviewing "strategic alternatives" for the company.

NTC, which holds nearly 88 percent of TDC's stock, is owned by funds controlled or advised by private equity investment firms Apax Partners, the Blackstone Group, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, Permira Advisers and Providence Equity.

"TDC will to the extent necessary and appropriate assist in this strategic review," TDC said in a statement.

"TDC does not expect to publicly disclose additional information regarding the status of the review of strategic alternatives until the review has been completed," TDC added.
