WASHINGTON Nov 23 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate has confirmed the appointment of new U.S. directors for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the InterAmerican Development Bank, the Treasury Department said on Monday.

James Hudson will represent the United States on the board of the London-based EBRD. A venture capitalist for 23 years and Chairman of JLH Partners LLC, he has focused on projects in energy co-generation and efficiency, real estate development, commercial enterprises and consumer products, the Treasury said.

Gustavo Arnavat will be U.S. Executive Director to the IADB, serving on the board that oversees the general operations of the Washington-based development bank. Arnavat most recently served as director and senior legal counsel of Citigroup's (C.N) Citi Private Bank in New York, where he was legal co-head of the Latin America market region, the Treasury said.

He has managed a wide range of legal, regulatory policy issues in Citi's banking investment management and brokerage operations and spent several years as an investment banker.
