(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 5:20 a.m. EST on Tuesday:

KHOST - A roadside bomb killed five members of one family in Ismail Khel district, provincial governor Tahir Sabari said. The Interior Ministry said in a statement three civilians were killed and three were wounded.

KHOST - Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a car in Khost City, killing four civilians, including two women, Khost governor Sabari said.

KANDAHAR - A suicide bomber targeting a police vehicle, detonated his explosives in Panjwai district on Monday, wounding five civilians, including three children, the Interior Ministry said.

SOUTHERN AFGHANISTAN - One U.S. service member was killed in an insurgent attack in the south of the country on Monday, the U.S. military said.
