Panasonic under EU investigation on CRT business

TOKYO | Thu Nov 26, 2009 5:21am EST

TOKYO Nov 26 (Reuters) - Japan's Panasonic Corp (6752.T) said it and its display unit MT Picture Display are under EU investigation ove their cathode ray tube (CRT) business. The European Commission said earlier on Thursday it had sent a so-called statement of objections, a charge sheet, to a number of companies for alleged participation in a television and computer monitor tubes cartel.

CRTs are used in conventional TVs.
