U.S. says patience with Iran fading

VIENNA | Fri Nov 27, 2009 6:59am EST

VIENNA Nov 27 (Reuters) - The U.S. envoy to the U.N. nuclear watchdog said on Friday international patience with Iran was running out and a group of six world powers could not continue "round after round" of fruitless talks for talks' sake.

Ambassador Glyn Davies was speaking to reporters after International Atomic Energy Agency governors voted to rebuke Iran for covering up a second uranium enrichment site until September.

The resolution also reflected exasperation with Iran's snub of an offer to give it fuel for nuclear medicine if it turns over enriched uranium that Western powers suspect will be used for atomic bombs, rather than electricity as Tehran says.
