SAL. OPPENHEIM

Wilhelm von Haller, a member of Deutsche Bank's (DBKGn.DE) management committee for Germany, will move to Sal. Oppenheim by year's end, a spokesman for Sal. Oppenheim said.

DEUTSCHE BANK (DBKGn.DE)

Deutsche Bank's private wealth management division said it has appointed Kevin Lecocq as managing director and head of global investment solutions.

AFRICA FINANCE CORP

Nigeria-based Africa Finance Corp (AFC) said it appointed the head of private equity fund Global Infrastructure Partners as chairman, a move meant to boost its independence from the public sector. Bayo Ogunlesi, a former senior Credit Suisse (CSGN.VX) investment banker and a founder of the $5.64 billion GIP fund, replaces former Central Bank Governor Chukwuma Soludo, under whose supervision the AFC was created. SOCIETE GENERALE (SOGN.PA)

France's Societe Generale (SOGN.PA) has poached Royal Bank of Scotland's (RBS.L) top European energy banker, Fiona Paulus, to head its British investment banking team as it bulks up its advisory business. [ID:nGEE5AT10K]

The law firm said Joseph J. LoBue and Michael A. Umayam have been promoted to special counsel.

John J. Koeppel has been named leader of the law firm's investment funds practice, the company said.

MAYER BROWN

The law firm announced that Paula A. Tuffin has joined its litigation practice as a partner, and will primarily work with its white collar defense and compliance group, handling complex commercial litigation matters.

ALVAREZ & MARSAL

The global professional services firm said Peter Rossow, a risk management expert, had joined as a managing director in its Chicago office, as part of the company's expansion in the midwestern United States.

WEIL GOTSCHAL

The law firm said Ronit Berkovich, of its New York office, Anne Cappella, of its Silicon Valley office, and Laszlo Nagy, of its Budapest office, are to become partners as of Jan. 1, 2010.
