Dec 1 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 0400 GMT on Tuesday.

** Peet's Coffee & Tea (PEET.O) raised its cash-and-stock offer to buy Diedrich Coffee Inc DDRX.O for the second time in two weeks. To read more, please double click on [ID:nN30471257]

** General Electric Co (GE.N) and Vivendi SA (VIV.PA) have agreed in principle to a deal in which GE would buy the French company's 20 percent stake in NBC Universal for $5.8 billion, a source familiar with the matter said, paving the way for Comcast Corp's (CMCSA.O) proposed joint venture with GE. ** Zijin Mining Group Co (2899.HK), China's largest listed gold company, has offered $498 million for Indophil Resources NL (IRN.AX), chasing the Australian miner's one-third stake in a big copper and gold lode in the Philippines. [ID:nSYD428144]

** Chipmaker Broadcom Corp (BRCM.O) said it agreed to buy privately held Dune Networks for around $178 million in cash in a move to bolster its portfolio of network equipment products. [ID:nN30465306]

** Canadian advertising agency Cossette Inc KOS.TO said it has accepted a sweetened bid from U.S. private equity group Mill Road Capital and it continues to recommend that its shareholders reject an unsolicited takeover proposal from Cosmos Capital. [ID:nN30395158]

** Noront Resources (NOT.V) boosted its offer to buy fellow Canadian miner Freewest Resources Canada FWR.V, attempting to top a rival bid from U.S.-based Cliffs Natural Resources (CLF.N). [ID:nBNG413817]

** IBM (IBM.N) said it had bought database security company Guardium, aiming to expand its software portfolio and help its business clients protect their databases from hacking and fraud.
