CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Reuters) - Bank of America CEO Kenneth Lewis said on Wednesday he did not plan to remain at the firm next year, but indicated he may be willing to delay his retirement beyond his planned year-end retirement date.

"No I don't plan on being there" next year, Lewis said at a conference sponsored by the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. He added that he would continue to lead the firm "until I am not CEO."
