Canada's Flaherty says recovery remains fragile

WINNIPEG, Manitoba Dec 2 (Reuters) - Canada's recovery remains fragile, although there are reasons to be optimistic in 2010, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said on Wednesday.

Flaherty, speaking as he unveiled a quarterly report on the government's two-year economic stimulus package, also said employment was far too low and growth remains modest.

"There is every reason to be hopeful in 2010, as the full weight of both monetary and fiscal policy supports growth," he said in the prepared text of a speech.
