UPDATE 1-Cascade Corp Q3 loss narrower than expected

Dec 2 (Reuters) - Truck components maker Cascade Corp (CASC.N) posted narrower-than-expected quarterly loss as it generated higher sales volumes in North America, China and Asia Pacific compared with the prior quarter.

For the third quarter, net income fell to $157,000 or 1 cent a share, from $10.4 million or 94 cents a share, a year ago.

According to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S, the company posted an adjusted loss of 7 cents a share, compared with analysts' average estimates of a loss of 9 cents a share before items.

Net sales fell 42 percent to $80.8 million from a year ago, but were up 5 percent compared with the second quarter.

Analysts were expecting revenue of $83.9 million. Shares of the company closed at $23.52 Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange.
