NEW YORK Dec 2 (Reuters) - Dominion Resources Inc's (D.N) 799-megawatt Unit 2 at the Surry nuclear power station in Virginia ramped up to 70 percent power by early Wednesday from 30 percent early Tuesday after exiting a refuel, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said in a report.

The unit shut by Nov. 2.

It last shut from about April 27 to May 21, 2008, and is on an 18-month refueling cycle.

Surry is located in Gravel Neck in Surry County, about 45 miles (72 km) northwest of Norfolk, Virginia.
