BRIEF-Nokia says competition rising in smartphones

HELSINKI Dec 3 (Reuters) - Nokia's (NOK1V.HE) smartphone unit chief Jo Harlow said in a webcast published on Thursday:
* seeing "really fierce" competition in high-end of smartphone market
* sees competition increasing also elsewhere in smartphone market
* has cut smartphone portfolio roughly in half -Harlow
