Labor Secretary Solis vows effort on job creation

WASHINGTON | Thu Dec 3, 2009 1:43pm EST

WASHINGTON Dec 3 (Reuters) - U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis said on Thursday that a resumption of economic growth had only led to a slowing of job losses so far and that more work needed to be done to create employment.

"We need strategies that will get ... people back to work now in good sustainable jobs," Solis told a White House jobs forum hosted by President Barack Obama. "This administration will not rest until we have accomplished that role." ((matt.spetalnick@reuters.com ; +1 202 898 8300; Reuters Messaging: matt.spetalnick.reuters.com@reuters.net ))
