AEP to shut Texas Welsh 1 coal unit soon

NEW YORK Dec 3 (Reuters) - American Electric Power Co Inc (AEP.N) planned to shut the 528-megawatt Unit 1 at the Welsh coal-fired power station in Texas on Dec. 3-8, the company told Texas regulators in a report.
The company said it planned to conduct planned maintenance on auxiliary equipment from Dec. 3-14.
The company did not say when the unit would return to service.
Welsh is located in Cason in Titus County about 130 miles (209 km) east of Dallas.
