Weezer cancels December concerts after crash
LOS ANGELES |
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rock band Weezer has canceled its December concerts, following a crash of the lead singer's tour bus in upstate New York.
On Sunday, Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo was hospitalized with three cracked ribs from the bus crash, which happened on an icy patch of freeway about 40 miles from Albany, the band said on its website.
Cuomo's wife and 2 year-old daughter were aboard the bus but were not injured.
"We are sorry to say that the rest of the December Raditude Tour has been canceled," the band's website said.
The band has not said if ticket holders for those shows would receive refunds, or if the dates will be rescheduled.
Weezer was due to perform this month in Boston, Washington, D.C., and Camden, New Jersey. Plans for the band's January shows have not been set.
The band's hit songs include "Buddy Holly" and "Island in the Sun," and last month it released the album "Raditude."
