TOKYO Dec 8 (Reuters) - Japanese National Strategy Minister Naoto Kan said on Tuesday the government hoped to reach some conclusion this week on changing its policy pledges.

Kan, who is also deputy prime minister, made the remark at a news conference after the coalition government agreed to spend 7.2 trillion yen ($80.59 billion) on economic stimulus measures.

The Democratic Party-led government has pledged to boost spending to help ease the pain on households from a weak economy. But analysts say it may have to trim some of the spending to rein in an already ballooning public deficit. (Reporting by Stanley White)
