TOKYO Dec 11 (Reuters) - Japanese National Strategy Minister Naoto Kan said on Friday the government has not yet decided on a specific new bond issuance target to be included in budget guidance for the year starting next April.

"The governments wants to set the guidance as early as possible," Kan, who is also deputy prime minister, told a news conference after a cabinet meeting.

Kan also said the government will map out growth strategies by the end of this year.

Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama said Friday he has not given up on the 44 trillion yen bond issuance cap for fiscal 2010/2011 but acknowledged it would be difficult to meet. (Reporting by Rie Ishiguro)
