Romanian annulled votes recount to end on Monday

BUCHAREST Dec 11 (Reuters) - A recount ordered by the Romanian Constitutional Court of about 138,000 annulled votes cast in a Dec. 6 presidential ballot, is expected to be completed by Monday at 1300 GMT, the Central Election Bureau said on Friday.

The votes outnumber incumbent President Traian Basescu's razor-thin 70,000 vote victory margin over Social Democrat leader Mircea Geoana, who contested the result at the court, alleging fraud.

Analysts said it was unlikely enough annulled votes could be declared valid to make a difference. (Reporting by Radu Marinas)
