SINGAPORE Dec 16 (Reuters) - Chevron Phillips Chemical said on Wednesday it was shutting down for maintenance ethylene units at its Port Arthur, Texas, plant, according to a filing to state pollution regulators.

It said the cause for the shutdown was "maintenance activities associated with the regeneration of converters FA-426 A/B".

The maintenance will last until Dec. 24, it said in the filing to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. (Reporting by Judy Hua; Editing by Himani Sarkar)
