CREDIT SUISSE (CSGN.VX)
Credit Suisse has hired Lon Tiemann, David Todd, Matthew Almy and Ossie Okeke to run a natural gas trading desk. They were formerly at Merrill Lynch.
ALVAREZ & MARSAL
Alvarez & Marsal said that J.D. Wichser and Brian Cantor have joined the firm's Business Consulting practice as senior directors.
MORGAN STANLEY (MS.N)
Morgan Stanley has appointed Chris Duffy as head of its prime brokerage in Japan. Duffy formerly ran the Japanese equities distribution team.
RBC CAPITAL MARKETS (RY.TO)
RBC Capital Markets has appointed John Wells to its U.S. Municipal Finance Corporate Banking practice as a director. Wells was formerly a director of public finance healthcare at Assured Guaranty Corp.
EXECUTION HOLDINGS LTD AND NOBLE GROUP HOLDINGS LTD
The boards of Execution Holdings Ltd and Noble Group Holdings Ltd have agreed on an offer for Noble by Execution. The new group will be called Execution Noble and will be managed by Nick Finegold, Simon Brookhouse, Angus Macpherson, Damien Devine, and Charles Ashton. Nonexecutive directors will include Ben Thomson, Keith Jones, David Potter, Stephen Curran and Polly Williams. The new group is pending consent from the Financial Services Authority.
W.R. BERKELEY CORP (WRB.N)
W.R. Berkeley Corp said that Kenneth J. Berger was appointed as president of Berkeley Specialty Underwriting Managers LLC's Environmental Division.
SHEARMAN & STERLING LLP
Shearman & Sterling LLP elected Iain Elder, Robert Freedman, Richard Kelly, Daniel Laguardia, Mark McNeill, Martin Neuhaus, and Russell Sacks as partners in the law firm.
MITCHELL SILBERBERG & KNUPP
Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp said that John Schulman would join the firm as partner and chairman of its entertainment department. Schulman retired last year after 25 years at Warner Brothers, where he was the executive vice president and general counsel.
JARDINE LLOYD THOMPSON (JLT.L)
Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT) announced the appointment of Richard Harvey as a nonexecutive director with effect from Dec. 17, 2009. Harvey was recently appointed as a nonexecutive director and chairman elect of PZ Cussons Plc.
AVIVA PLC (AV.L)
Aviva Asia announced that Anupam Sahay, currently group strategy and development director at Aviva UK, will be appointed to the role of managing director regional development and strategy with effect from Jan. 1, 2010.
EQUIDUCT
Equiduct Systems Ltd announced that Peter Randall has been named the chief executive officer of the electronic trading platform. Randall joins Equiduct from Chi-X Europe Ltd.
INSIGHT INVESTMENT
Insight Investment has appointed Adam Mossakowski as credit fund manager within its fixed income team. Mossakowski joins from F&C Investments.
