NEW YORK Dec 21 (Reuters) - Progress Energy Inc's (PGN.N) 938-megawatt Unit 1 at the Brunswick nuclear power station in North Carolina returned to full power by early Monday from 66 percent early Friday, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said in a report.

The company reduced the unit by Dec. 18 due to an offsite transmission line problem.

Brunswick is located in Southport in Brunswick County, about 160 miles (257 km) south of Raleigh. (Reporting by Scott DiSavino; Editing by John Picinich)
