Japan transport min says govt will back JAL

TOKYO Dec 22 (Reuters) - Japan's transport minister, Seiji Maehara, said on Tuesday that the government would back Japan Airlines Corp 9205.T even if the state does not offer guarantees on bank bridge loans to the struggling carrier.

Earlier in the day, Japan's finance minister said the state-owned bank has no intention of giving future government guarantees for JAL's bridge loans. [ID:nTKX006606]
