Beijing Auto says spends $200 mln on Saab technology

BEIJING Dec 23 (Reuters) - Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Corp (BAIC) has spent $200 million to buy technology from General Motors' [GM.UL] Saab unit, the Chinese auto firm said on Wednesday.

The intellectual property it has bought includes three overall vehicle platforms, two engine technologies and two transmission systems, BAIC said in a statement ahead of a news conference. (Reporting by Michael Wei and Jason Subler; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
