Chile LAN to buy 30 new Airbus jets for $1.97 bln

SANTIAGO Dec 23 (Reuters) - Chile's flagship airline LAN LAN.SN said on Wednesday it has signed a contract to buy 30 new Airbus A320 short-haul planes worth around $1.97 billion to upgrade its fleet.

The new planes would be incorporated into LAN's fleet between 2011 and 2016. Airbus is a unit of EADS (EAD.PA). (Reporting by Alonso Soto; Editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
