Indian shares rise 0.4 pct; Infosys leads

MUMBAI Dec 23 (Reuters) - Indian shares were up 0.4 percent in early trade on Wednesday, led by a rise in Infosys Technologies (INFY.BO) and ICICI Bank (ICBK.BO), with firm Asian markets supporting sentiment.

At 9:55 a.m. (0425 GMT), the 30-share BSE index .BSESN was up 0.44 percent at 16,765.93 points, with 25 components advancing.

The 50-share NSE Index .NSEI was up 0.51 percent at 5,011.10. (Reporting by Ami Shah)
