Transport Min: still mulling JAL fund guarantees

TOKYO Dec 25 (Reuters) - The government is still considering guaranteeing banks' funding to Japan Airlines Corp 9205.T, Transport Minister Seiji Maehara told a regular news conference on Friday.

Finance Minister Hirohisa Fujii said earlier this week that the government would not guarantee loans and other funding to JAL. [ID:nTOE5BL04N]

Fujii and other ministers had agreed to consider guarantees on loans to JAL including funding from the state-owned Development Bank of Japan (DBJ), which was tapped to provide the airline with a 100 billion yen line of credit. [ID:nBNG509104] (Reporting by Nobuhiro Kubo)
